When you have carte blanche to design your future interior, you can also choose your dream fireplace. For their newly built property, Ifaf and Hussam had a clear idea of what they wanted, but would they find the right fireplace to meet their expectations?
Contemporary design, quality materials
Ifaf and Hussam live with their two children in a recently constructed house whose elegantly stylish interior they designed themselves. They knew they wanted a fireplace and imagined it could be an attractive way to break up the space between the living and dining room – and plus, the fire could be enjoyed from both areas.
With this idea in mind, they went to their local fireplace dealer Water & Vuur in Groningen, who began to sketch out a design and show them some options. The choice didn’t take long: when Ifaf and Hussam saw the Kalfire GP85/50R room divider fireplace in the showroom, they were won over. “Normally I’m a real doubter, I want to see everything ten times before I make a decision,” says Ifaf. “But when I saw this fireplace, I was immediately hooked. I thought it was beautiful. It was one of the few times that I immediately said with full conviction: this is it. We didn’t look at any other fireplaces after that. We could imagine it in our house in the best possible way.”
The couple decided on a long black marble hearth, extended to the wall to create a shelf below a TV nook, with the fireplace jutting into the space between the rooms. Apart from Ifaf and Hussam visiting a natural stone company to choose the marble, Water & Vuur handled the entire process, from the design to the delivery to the installation.
A fireplace that fits perfectly
As the house is newly built, there is no gas connection, so Water & Vuur recommended a fire fuelled by propane, which is delivered in secure cylinders and is suitable for any location. Ifaf and Hussam also chose the Natural Spark Generator as an option, which releases intermittent sparks that make the flame play ultra-realistic. It may look like a wood fire, but has all the ease of use of a gas fire: it can be switched on and off and the flames adjusted or programmed at the touch of a button.
The family’s dream house fits their vision down to the smallest detail. As soon as you enter, the space exudes style, which is not surprising, as Ifaf is setting up her own interior design and consulting company. They are delighted with their fireplace and its gorgeous marble base and are happy to recommended Water & Vuur to the many guests who enthusiastically compliment their fire feature. Because of the good advice and the perfect implementation of their project, they have already recommended their dealer Water en Vuur several times.
